Coronation of Royalty was held recently for the 2017-2018 Homecoming at Turner High School. Four high school boys and girls were delegates for the festivities. Last year's reigning queen and king, Melanie Watkins and Eddie Harmon, passed the crowns to the incoming royalty that was recently held at half court during the varsity boys game recently. A group of Turner students will be attending the County spelling bee in Chinook on Feb. 7th. Those attending will be Shay Humphreys, Lacey Hickel, Carson Maloney, Dakota Krass, and Laci Maloney. Colten Jorgenson, a seventh grader at Turner Public School, won the school competition of the National Geographic Bee this week and a chance at a $50,000.00 college scholarship. The school Bee, at which students answered questions on geography, was the first round in the 30th annual National Geographic Bee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Over the past few weeks, Bill and Mary Hake have been to Great Falls to visit Charlie Shanefelter while he was in hospice. Since his passing, they have been to visit Sally at her home in Turner.
