    The students at Turner Public School had a blast last week during recess prior to the warmer temps and winds that melted a good share of the snow. But, prior to that, the kiddos had a blast digging and rolling snow across the playground. You can bet, where there's snow to be sculpted, there's kids. That's just a given.     The 2016-2017 Homecoming was held this past weekend at the Tornado gymnasium. Festivities were held all week long with activities ranging from Pajama Day, Retro Day, Hawaiian Day and Green and White Day. Floats were constructed during the week to partake in the Homecoming Parade prior to Homecoming between games on Friday.     Amy Egbert and Anita Reed went over to Elissa Zellmer’s house on Thursday to sort community calendars. They enjoyed lunch with Elissa and Jordan while there.     Congratulations to Dusty and Misty Mohar on the birth of their son, Corbin Paul, born January 1st. The little lad weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.     In April, a Statewide Meeting of the Montana Cooperative Development Council was held at Fairmont Hot Springs. The Big Flat Co-op was asked to attend to share their success as they were the "poster child" for cooperative success.     The American Legion Auxiliary is asking for donations to help purchase flagpoles that will be erected at the Avenue of Flags at Fort Harrison Veterans Hospital. The flags will line the parade field in front of the hospital. The American Legion and Auxiliary are hoping to purchase 50 poles at the close of this pole drive and to date they have twenty eight.     Kindergarten students through grade 12 at Turner Public School enjoyed an assembly with three firemen from the Hogeland and Turner Volunteer Fire Department. They started off by visiting with grades K-2 students and talked about fire prevention, changing batteries in smoke and fire detectors, fire drills, stop, drop, and roll drills, etc. The students enjoyed seeing the firemen come in actual fire gear and make the smoke detector "beep!"     In conjunction with September being Suicide Prevention Month, the second annual Suicide prevention walk was once again held. The day started with buses driven by Frank McGuire and Cody Ballard transporting people from the Turner Park to the Catholic Church where registration took place.
