Hunters and anglers can expect a few changes this year when they buy their 2020 licenses starting March 1. Samples from 25 deer harvested around the state tested positive for chronic wasting disease last week. The majority of the new positive samples were from animals harvested within CWD Management Zones, where the disease is known to exist. Two of the positive samples were from areas where the disease had not been previously detected. USDA is providing Chinook with a $865,000 grant and a $789,000 loan to improve water distribution. The project will replace fire hydrants and valves, and construct a new bulk water station, improving the water flow and ability to fight a fire.
