It looked like there was a nice turn out for the Sugarbeet Festival this last weekend. There were a lot of people out and about for all the different activities. We have 2 new board members after the election on Friday July 17th. Steve Edwards and Peggy Perry will be joining Tom Tilleman, Ken Schubert, Lorraine Mulonet, Terry Grabofsky, and Kathy O’Brien. I was out of town visiting friends a couple of weekends ago and this young man asked me about the meals at the Senior Center. Even though we are closed to the public, it hasn't stopped us from getting to see some of our patrons at least once a week. We had some really nice weather for the weekend, just to wake up Monday morning to more snow. I really wish the weather would just pick something and stick with it. One thing I keep hearing is that the Senior Center is for old people….No, it’s not!! It’s a place to come together and socialize with one another, no matter how old or young you are. Some come to socialize over coffee; some come to play games (cards\bingo) and socialize; and some come to get their socializing in over a bite to eat. The point is that this is a place to come and visit with your neighbor from across the way; no matter if it’s across the road, town, or the county.
