Winter decided to return with a vengeance and made a liar out of the weather app. on my phone, which said light snow only. I was really hoping that we would only get a light snow and not be too cold. I have decided that a weatherman, I am not. With all the news about the Covid-19 virus all I can say is if you feel unwell; do not go out in public, stay home, and take care of yourself. If you need a meal, call us by 10 a.m. so we can make sure to make enough for everyone. Deliveries will go on, no matter what. Last week in Whist Lois Butcher had...

Thank you to all who sent cards called or messaged me last week after my heart attack on Monday. Your support is much appreciated and thank you to those who took over my duties while I was in the hospital. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, a day of green beer and getting pinched if you are not wearing green. Why do we wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? The thought was that wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns and fairy folk who would pinch anyone they could see, which was anyone not wearing green. People began pinching those who didn’t w...

We had some really nice weather for the weekend, just to wake up Monday morning to more snow. I really wish the weather would just pick something and stick with it. This up and down temperature is for the birds. Well no matter what it is doing outside, it is always nice and comfortably warm here at the center. So come on in and check us out, and if you have any suggestions for activities that you and others may like to do, please let me know about it. On Tuesday, I taught Lois Butcher how to play Push (card game), she won both games we played....

One thing I keep hearing is that the Senior Center is for old people….No, it’s not!! It’s a place to come together and socialize with one another, no matter how old or young you are. Some come to socialize over coffee; some come to play games (cards\bingo) and socialize; and some come to get their socializing in over a bite to eat. The point is that this is a place to come and visit with your neighbor from across the way; no matter if it’s across the road, town, or the county. So come on in and check us out, and if you have any suggestions for...

Well, Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow and predicts an early spring. Yay! The weather this winter has been just screwy, not much in the snow department and warmer weather than I can ever remember for winter. Thank you to the Community Quilters for the centerpiece table mats. Bingo is played at 1 p.m. every Thursday. Last week’s jackpot winner was Virginia Olson. On Friday, the Kitchen Band will be playing and there will be pinochle after lunch. The Public Card Party is set for Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10 is the Board of D...
