The Montana Federation of Swimmers summer swim schedule had the Chinook Lion's and Harlem swim teams in Roundup this weekend for their third meet of the season. Both teams have started really well and have saw many personal best set with their swimmers from the experienced to the beginners. The summer swim season officially kicked off this past weekend in Harlem as they hosted the first meet of the Montana Federation of Swimmers summer schedule. A good number of teams were on hand and the Chinook Lions and Harlem swim teams both turned in a fine performance to begin the season. Chinook won the overall team championship racking up nearly 700 points and also had three individual High Point winners. The Chinook Golf Course and Country Club is holding its 2nd Annual Community Dinner and Live Auction on Saturday, June 9th at the Blaine County Fairground Commercial Building. The Class C State Track and Field meet in Great Falls this past weekend produced plenty of memorable moments including the efforts of Turner senior Eddie Harmon and his teammate, junior Cody Welsh. The Chinook Sugarbeeter girls finished fourth at the State C Golf tournament held at Fairmont Hot Springs last week. The girls finished with a score of 646 just three shots out of third and fourth out of second. The team consisted of senior Carrie Hofer and junior Ashley MacLeod who were both making there third appearance at the state meet. School Levy and Trustee Elections were held last Tuesday around Blaine County. In Harlem Valerie Blackcrow received 132 votes and Clayton Talks Different 126 and were elected to serve three year terms. Kathleen Adams received 152 votes and will serve a one year term. The Chinook Sugarbeeters are on a roll when it comes to performing very well on the links. The team hosted their own invitational this past Saturday sweeping the team title in the process and crowning an Individual champion in the process. The Chinook Rod and Gun Club has been very active in getting as many local kids outdoor as they can reach. They have reached out to the local elementary schools in recent years and have partnered with them to provide a safe educational day of fishing.
