    The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds took on the District 1B Rocky Boy Northern Stars last Tuesday. It was the home opener for the Thunderbirds and it also marked the first time they had faced the Morning Stars since they made the move to Class B following the 2009 season.     The Turner Tornado girls basketball teams struggles on the court continued this past weekend. Friday in their home opener they welcomed the Fort Benton Longhorns to town. Fort Benton got off to a fast start early on and the Tornadoes did their best to keep pace. The Longhorns held a 18-11 advantage at the end of eight minutes of action.     The Turner Tornadoes were back on the court for the first time since winning a pair of games in Glasgow to start the season two weeks earlier. Turner opened District 9C play Friday night with a home contest against the Fort Benton Longhorns. The Tornadoes got off to a fast start and then held on for a 52-47 win.     The Chinook Sugarbeeter boys basketball team took on the Big Sandy Pioneers Friday night in the District 9C opener for both teams. The 'Beeters were looking to get in the win column for the first time this season and gave the Pioneers their best shot early on. In the end it was Big Sandy that took a 67-52 win over the 'Beeters.     The Harlem Wildcats entered the 2022-23 season with very little experience, returning just four players with limited varsity court time. That being said what they don't lack is heart and the will to compete for 32 minutes each time they take the court.     The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds welcomed the District 1B Rocky Boy Northern Stars to the Thunderdome in their home opener last Tuesday. This marked the first meeting between the two teams since Rocky Boy left the District 9C following the 2009 season. The Lady Cats were once again very successful placing two athletes on the podium. Junior Kaitlyn Johnson won the girls 126 pound division while sophomore Izzy Baker fished second at 114 pounds.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters performed very well at the Scottie Invitational in Glasgow this past weekend. Senior Tyler Schoen and freshman Emma Klingaman led the way with each winning individual titles. Chinook took 10 boys and 3 girls to Glasgow.
