    Once again this community amazes me! What a wonderful turnout we had for the Pie Social. Over 60 people came to visit and enjoy a slice of pie with our Board of Directors, including Tom Tilleman, Roger Fischer, Rochelle Wohlschlager and Kathy O'Brien. Thank you to Ardys Conrad, Vernelia Tilleman, and Marilyn Berger for donating pies. Now on to this week's news... On Wednesday, the movie, "The Zookeeper's Wife" will be shown in the library meeting room at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be provided....

    Well, things are back to normal at the center after the big snow. This week we will celebrate Coyla Boe’s birthday as she turns 102! Please make sure to call ahead, if you are coming for lunch and cake this Friday. The Kitchen Band will play and there will be Pinochle after lunch.     What a week! Even though we had no power and all that snow, the Senior Center was able to get meals out to the shut-ins and check on everyone we needed to. Art Kleinjan and our cooks did a wonderful job seeing our seniors had a hot meal and were safe. Thank you, we appreciate you all so much! We start with Whist on Wednesday, June 28 at 1 p.m. On Thursday, the Strong People exercise class with Kendra Seilstad will be at 10:30 a.m. Jackpot Bingo will then be played in the afternoon with a $10 prize.     Congratulations to Art Kleinjan. He was voted in as the new president of the North Central Area Agency on Aging Council at our meeting in Chester on Friday. What an honor for Chinook! Our Thursday morning senior exercise class has been cancelled this week but we still have Bingo at 1 p.m. Last week, Karyn Higgins was our blackout winner.     We have a lot of work going on our building right now as our roof is being resealed. Hopefully they will be done soon. It isn’t affecting our activities or “Meals on Wheels” program though.
