What a big week we had at the center! Our 2nd annual Grill & Chill BBQ was very well attended with over 80 people enjoying the yummy hamburgers from Shipwheel Cattle Co. that Tom Tilleman cooked for us. A special thanks to Marilyn Williamson for setting it all up! And our Ice Cream Social was also a big success… about 60 people stopped for sundaes. We sure were lucky yesterday to have the Loaves & Fishes children stop by and perform songs for us. We enjoyed it very much and they did such a nice job! This week has tons of activities you won’t want to miss! We start with Whist on Wednesday, August 16 at 1 p.m. Then be sure to stop by from 3 to 5 p.m. for our Ice Cream Social fundraiser. August calendars are out and we have a busy schedule planned for you. We will have Bingo at 1 p.m. this Thursday. Frances Ewing won the Blackout prize last week. The Kitchen Band will be playing on Friday before lunch and they will continue while pinochle is played in the afternoon. Last week’s winners were Jack O’Brien and Virginia Olson. Art and I got back from Choteau where he was honored for being our 2017 "Senior of the Year." We had a very nice time! The new calendars are out and we have added some new activities in August, so stop by and see what we have going on. We had a very large turnout at the annual meeting Friday. Rochelle Wohlschlager and Kathy O’Brien were elected to serve on the board again. The center has a new mission statement, “To provide identified needs of older patrons.” We will be striving to meet this goal in the incoming year. Thursday afternoon, we will have Bingo at 1 p.m. Last week, Gerry Lenhardt was the blackout winner.
