We had a great turnout for our Father’s Day meal on Friday! I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Father’s Day. Thank you to Marilyne Berger for the bouquet of peonies and the daisies for the tables. It is the time of year to renew your membership at the Senior Citizen Center. Membership is $10. Anyone can be a member. Voting members must be 60 or older. Our annual board meeting will take place July 20, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. and voting for board members will be taking place at that time. Hello to all of you out there. Hey all you fellow baby boomers out there, I just wanted to let you know that you are missing out on a very enjoyable time here at the center. You really are old enough to come in and enjoy a meal, play some games, or just visit over a cup of coffee. We always welcome and love to see some new faces and old friends. Interestingly, the game Shanighai Rummy was never introduced to me before. This week I was taught the game and I do believe it will take me some time to get the hang of it. Beginner’s luck was not with me, as my final score was 360 while the winning score was 55. Looking forward, I think I may have to try my hand at learning whist and relearning pinochle. The first week under new directorship went well for the Senior Center. I am still looking forward to meeting everyone, as well as having fun getting reacquainted with friends from the past. The Chinook Senior Citizen's Center welcomed their new director, Marlane Wenzel on May 11th. We all look forward to the new adventure. We hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.
