Thank you all for coming today to help us honor Gail Swant. Gail walked through these doors into the science wing here at CHS for over 40 years. To many freshman science students in their minds, she came every day to terrorize them. Nothing could be further from the truth. She came in every day to give each student the best opportunity to learn everything that she could provide. Gail could seem to be quite stern or humorless, but she wanted to have a safe environment for learning and with almost...

As a community service project, students then decided to express their creativity and design skills and build a new planter to contain the hardy plum tree and provide a space for...

Following the clean-up, hot dogs, nachos and bars were furnished by the Civic group. Soon the Harlem Main Street light poles will b...

As a past Paramedic/firefighter I want to bring attention to another 1st Responder that is rarely recognized or thanked. Recently one of our County Newspaper articles had a thank you given only to the Police, Fire, and ambulance. We do not value our Tow Truck Drivers or Wrecking Crews. They too face the horrors of every bad accident scene; get called out at all hours of the night and work in the worst weather, longer than any other 1st responders. More Tow Truck Drivers are killed or injured every year on these calls than police or fire...

Bells remind us to locate those in need, and to bring them into the fold. Also, for centuries bells have been used to announce special events. Stars are the most familiar Christmas symbol. They represent the star of Bethlehem, which guided the Wisemen to the Christ child. They remind us that we should diligently seek Him every day. For centuries, the evergreen tree has been a c...
