The town of Chinook would like to report that after a recent shut down of the water system to replace a fire hydrant, that the water is now safe for people to drink. Any time a water system is shut down for any reason, a sample must be sent to DEQ for testing and the results of those samples were returned this morning and the water is safe for human consumption. It was one hundred and one years ago when William Arthur Davies first came to Blaine County and this weekend the family got together to celebrate. Relatives and friends came from all over to partake in the festivities. William Davies was born in Denbighshire, Wales in 1890. He lived there until he made his way to United States in March of 1912. The Chinook tennis team competed in Havre this past weekend at the Northeast B/C Divisional tennis tournament. The Chinook Sugarbeeter Tennis team was back on the court this past week to finish out their regular season as they played two duals, one at home and one in Chester. They then traveled to Choteau for their annual invitational tournament to wrap up the regular season. Last Tuesday, May 3rd the Chinook netters hosted Harlem. The Chinook Sugarbeeters tennis team traveled to Townsend and Helena this past weekend to play in the DAWG BITE Duals hosted by Broadwater High School. Chinook dueled Wolf Point, Whitehall, Choteau and a combined team of Boulder and Conrad on Friday, and then returned to action on Saturday squaring off against Anaconda, Townsend, Lone Peak, and a combined team from Harlem and Poplar. The Chinook Sugarbeeter tennis team had another successful outing as they competed in Havre last Tuesday against the Blue Ponies. Chinook went 27-1 on the day. "Havre has a couple of hard hitting singles players in Paige Nelson and Meggan Smith. Both Brooke and Meggan got to play each of them and were very successful," said 'Beeters head coach Tom MacLean.
