Now through the end of May 2024, Blaine County Museum is requesting the help of all adult Blaine County residents to participate in the Measure of Museum Social Impact (MOMSI) study. This study – the first of its kind – aims to assess how museums positively impact the communities they serve. The month of November has been a busy one for the museum. At the beginning of the month, we celebrated Native American Heritage Month by having a 20% off book sale on all titles related to Native American Heritage. There has also been a lot of progress on our Gilbert Horn exhibit. Sam and Austin have been busy researching various topics to ensure the exhibit will be both informative and thought provoking. This past year, Blaine County Museum has undergone many important and exciting changes. With the support of the Blaine County Commissioners, the museum was able to increase its annual budget to accommodate a second permanent position. Blaine County Museum invites you to attend the dedication of two special memorials to our late board chairman and founding member, Stuart “Scott” MacKenzie at 4 PM on Friday, November 25th. Friends Jude Sheppard, Dave Boisvert, and museum board chair Caryl Luckett will share reflections of Scott’s unparalleled contributions to the preservation of Blaine County history.
