    Monday, April 24, Chinook chapter members departed early in the morning once again for another opportunity to learn and socialize in the form of a competition. This particular competition, Envirothon, was a first-time for the Chinook Chapter that these courageous members: Hailey McMaster, Rielly Wiegand, Wylee Brown, and Sierra Swank, decided to take on with open minds.     Friday and Saturday, April 7th and 8th, the Chinook FFA Chapter hosted the 23rd annual Poets and Pickers Gathering. The Chinook FFA Chapter has hosted this for 12 years, and before that Speech and Drama for 11 years. Poets and Pickers is their own entity who bring in entertainers from all over to take part in their show. This entertainment is full of family fun storytelling, cowboy poetry and songs.     Wednesday, March 22nd, the Chinook FFA Members departed for the 2017 Montana State FFA Convention in Great Falls, Montana. Upon arriving, they went and toured the Montana Air National Guard Base, seeing very interesting things such as the C-130, the armory, and spoke with RED HORSE members.   • Chinook FFA keeping busy, competing till spring

    FFA has been one busy club this month, and will continue to be busy up until Spring. Results from Lewistown Mechanics, held on January 28th, included Austin Swanson receiving 18th place, and Patrick McMaster receiving 20th place overall individually for the Junior Mechanics. The junior mechanics team, Patrick McMaster, Austin Swanson, and Jackson Schmele (first timer), went home with an 8th place finish.   • Chinook FFA in Bozeman for John Deere Ag-Expo

    The weekend of November 18th, our chapter traveled to Bozeman for the JDAE (John Deere Ag Expo). On top of individual events the chapter members had, they went to a leadership training each morning they were there. During which speakers came in to tell them of their business experiences and give them advice on how to be a good leader and how to be successful. The chapter officers competed in Parli Pro.     Thursday, May 12th the Chinook FFA Chapter hosted their annual FFA Banquet to highlight awards and handout degrees based on the member’s involvement and achievements throughout the year. With Doug Mitchell cooking pulled pork and four tables full of exquisite dishes brought by the members, the night was one to remember.
