Just as the layers of a lake experience turn-over with the changing of the season, Blaine County is experiencing turnover, with multiple new hires. In the early hours of Tuesday, December 18, 2018, John Muller, co-owner of McNair Furniture of Rudyard, his wife Christine, and their nephew Justin, all of Kremlin, were shaken awake by a loud noise and heavy smoke in their home. They were all able to escape, but with only the clothes on their backs; they lost everything. They thankfully have homeowners insurance, but not all of the belongings they lost are covered. Ardis Evelyn Thomsen was born January 31,1927 to Elsie Katherine Hagedorn and Andrew Jeppe Thomsen in Hendricks, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm near Hendricks MN along with 5 siblings-a brother Leo, and sisters Bernice, LaVonne, Shirley and June. Ardis grew up an adventurous free spirit. She was a cat with 9 lives and used every one of them in her 91 years. Even at five years old she climbed to the top of their windmill where she sat for some time before being rescued by her irate... Lifelong Blaine County resident William Willard "Bill" Bilger Jr., 97, passed away on December 22, 2018 at the Sweet Nursing Home in Chinook, MT.
