    Chinook resident Tammy Williams has served the public for 33 years and this past Thursday was sworn in as Blaine Counties next Clerk and Recorder. Williams will take over the position from Sandi Boardman who is retiring.     In November Montana Governor Steve Bullock called a special session of the state legislature to resolve a $227 million budget shortfall.     Local and state public health officials are seeing an increase in influenza activity across the state, with nearly 200 new cases, 40 hospitalizations, and several outbreaks reported over the past two weeks. Reported cases are slightly higher than this time last year; however, influenza activity typically does increase in December.     Members of the Bullhook Bottoms Barbershop Chorus brought some Christmas cheer to residents at the Sweet Nursing Home and the Grande Villa senior apartments in Chinook last week.
