    On Wednesday, January 5, Montana Actors’ Theater (MAT) will be holding auditions for their youth production of the musical Anastasia.     CLEVELAND – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 6 game wardens are seeking any information regarding five white-tailed deer that were shot and left near Cleveland, 30 miles south of Chinook. On December 29, Game Warden Haden Hussey received a call concerning a dead deer on the Nick Faber Ranch, two miles southwest of the Cleveland Road and Peoples Creek Road intersection.     On the final day of 2021, the National Weather Service (NWS) Office in Great Falls issued a statement indicating that bitterly cold air would continue to be our companion as we welcome the new year.     Although the recent below zero temperatures and their frigid wind chills forced the Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs and Resort at Saco, Montana, to close from December 27-29, they announced in mid-December that they had invested in four new ice castles. The facilities are part of a plan to expand recreation opportunities at Nelson Reservoir.     Cheryl Lynn Barber, 53, of Chinook, passed away peacefully December 26, 2021. She was born February 10, 1968, in Havre, to Paul Dannels and Carol Upshaw. Early in life, her family moved to Chinook where she attended school, graduating as a Sugarbeeter from Chinook High. In 1988 she was married to Bill Barber and they were blessed with three children Casey, Katey, and Cody.     Marilyn B. Herman was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away at home with family at her bedside in Helena, on December 16, 2021 after an extended illness.
