    The Hays/Lodge Pole Archery Club is now in its third season and continues to grow. Recently, a first happened for the program; a perfect 50 was shot by freshman Ethan Jones. In the program's three years, there have been several scores of 49 and club supervisor Rod Benson said this was the first 50. The Thunderbirds have a busy schedule in front of them.     Students from Chinook Public Schools have been busy this past week working with representatives from the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT). The cast of students and crew from Missoula have been preparing for their performance of Robin Hood which will take place this Saturday, January 20, in the Lloyd D. Sweet Auditorium.     This past Tuesday, long-time Chinook teacher Kendal Harwood was sworn in by Justice Laird with family on hand to witness the event. Harwood first came to Chinook in the Winter of 2009, where he began substitute teaching while also serving as an assistant coach for the track team. The following year, he began teaching full time at Chinook's Meadowlark Elementary as a Kindergarten teacher.     Austin Haney, most recently a summer Interpretive Ranger at the Bear Paw Battlefield, has been selected as a presenter for the Humanities Montana program. Haney recently joined about fifty presenters with Montana Conversations.     The Harlem Lady Cats had a busy week on the court. First they were at home for a non-conference clash with the Box Elder Bears this past Thursday. The Lady Cats topped the Bears 73-45. Friday night, they were in Fairview where they fell to the Warriors 53-41. On Saturday, the girls were in Wolf Point for a District 2B clash with the Wolves. The Lady Cats hung on for a 64-61 win.     The Turner Tornadoes and the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds each found themselves with just one game this weekend. Both squads saw their Saturday games postponed until a later date. Friday evening, the Tornadoes were in Hays for a District 9C contest. Turner got off to a fast start and never looked back in earning a 78-30 win over the Thunderbirds.     The Turner Tornado girls made the short trip south to challenge the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds in a District 9C contest. Both teams got up and down the court at a good pace, but shooting was a bit of a problem for both teams. In the end, the Tornadoes took home a 48-32 win.     The Harlem Wildcat boys basketball team hosted the Box Elder Bears in a non-conference tilt. The Wildcats had trouble keeping up with the Bears, who eventually took an 82-41 lead over the Wildcats. Friday night they made the long trip east to Fairview to face the Warriors in a District 2B contest. Fairview got their offense and defense rolling early on and took a 73-45 win over the Wildcats.
