The Turner Tornadoes played a pair of District 9C contest over the weekend falling Friday evening to the North Star Knights 78-36, and Saturday to the Fort Benton Longhorns 61-49. The Harlem Lady Cat girls basketball team had a challenging weekend on the court as they fell to top ranked Malta Friday 70-19 Thursday afternoon. Saturday the girls were beaten by the 10-2 Wolf Point Wolves 47-29. The M-ettes took control from the get go and never let Harlem get started in their game on Thursday. The Harlem Wildcat boys basketball team fell Thursday to the conference leading Malta Mustangs 89-43. Saturday the team made the trip to Wolf Point where they picked up conference win number two following a 60-48 caging of the Wolves. September 15, 1927 – January 10, 2016. Donald “Don” Thomas Shankle, 88, of Salem, Oregon, passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born in Chinook, Montana on Sept. 15, 1927 to parents Mamie and Thomas Shankle and grew up in this same small town with his sister Esther. Don graduated from Chinook High School in Montana.
