There are two county level offices to be filled this year, the District 2 County Commissioner’s position and the Clerk of the District Court. Harlem, MT had a rough week, as a chlorine leak at the treatment plant drastically slowed down the rate at which the city was able to process clean drinking water. There was an increase in temperature, that caused a lead plug on the chlorine tank to melt, and leak the gas into the plant. Chlorine gas is extremely corrosive, and the gas also did a number on the electrical systems in the plant. Chlorine is necessary in the purification process of water in a plant such as the one found in Harlem....

I had some good prime rib in the freezer since Christmas. I decided to cut it up and turn it into a Saturday night supper of beef Stroganoff. The students from Professor Cheryll Alt's Introduction to nursing class were asked to sign up for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class during the course. Twelve students, out of 26 that were in the course, did sign up and participated in the Certified Nurses Training over the Christmas holiday break. Part of the 'package' that the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) brings to communities where it stages a production starring local children, is a series of hands-on workshops in the local schools. The Chinook Sugarbeeter boys basketball team faced a tough task this past weekend as they took on the top two teams in the District 9C. The Turner Tornadoes were looking to cap a great Homecoming week with a win and they did just that earning a thrilling overtime victory over the Dodson Coyotes 57-51 Thursday night.
