The fourth annual Brewfest was held this past Saturday at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building. The City of Harlem experienced a major water break last Monday that left residents without water for nearly two and a half days. The leak was first discovered on Monday, January 30 at approximately 8:30 in the morning. A six man crew worked tirelessly throughout the day and night to first find the source of the leak and then to finally repair it. Representing the Havre Elks' Lodge #1201, Linda Hoover visited Turner Public Schools on February 2. Unlike Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog with his bad news about six more weeks of winter, Hoover bore gifts, delivering dictionaries to the third graders. Hoover serves as the Lodge's Inner Guard and Co-Scholarship Committee Chair. Arlene Magdalena Gollihugh, 79, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at The Villa Assisted Living in Lewistown. Arlene was born on March 10, 1943 in Big Horn County, MT to August and Mary Hochhalter. Arlene graduated from Hardin High School in 1961. Alfred L. Finch, passed away peacefully at the young age of 101. He was born on January 15, 1922 to parents Clarence & Bertha Finch. Alfred and his siblings were raised on the family homestead SW (E. Yantic) of his current farm until the 1930’s. At this time the family moved to the current location and at the ripe age of 12 Alfred fell in love with farming. The Chinook Rod & Gun Club held its 4th Annual Fishing Derby this past Saturday. Originally the Derby was set to allow just 50 Anglers, but late notice from the MFWP came that they would be allowed to expand to 75 anglers beginning this year. The 75-angler limit will continue in the years to come. The turnout was fantastic with 53 entries being made. By the time the Derby concluded there were plenty of happy fishermen.
