    The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds improved to 9-4 in District 9C play and 10-6 overall following a pair of conference wins over Turner 90-34 Friday night and Fort Benton 77-38 on Saturday. The Tornadoes stayed with the Thunderbirds early as Hays/Lodge Pole held a 20-12 lead entering the second quarter.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters raced past the Harlem Wildcats Thursday night as they completed the season sweep of their old rivals from yesteryear with a 71-29 win. Saturday in Turner the 'Beeter defense stymied the Turner offense all night long holding the tornadoes to just 11 points through three quarters before earning the season sweep with a 44-21 win to improve to 10-2 in District 9C play and 14-2 overall.     The Turner Tornadoes record stands at an even 8-8 following this weekends games against Chinook and Hays/Lodge Pole. Friday the Tornadoes completed the season sweep of the Thunderbirds following a 57-39 win on the road in Hays. The team was on fire from beyond the arc as they drained eight three pointers in the contest. Turner started fast opening up a 22-15 lead after eight minutes of action.     The Class B and C girls District tournaments begin next week as the regular season concludes this weekend for teams from Chinook, Harlem, Hays/Lodge Pole and Turner. The District 9C tournament begins next Wednesday at the Havre High School gymnasium. Currently the Chinook Sugarbeeters hold the number two seed in the tournament and currently would begin play against the number seven seeded Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters turned in an outstanding overall team effort at the Northern B/C Divisional Wrestling Tournament this past weekend in Chinook. The 'Beeters amassed 143 points finishing just behind Fairfield/Simms (145) and Choteau (152) for the top spot in the division.   • North Central Montana Cattle Woman, Stock Growers offer annual scholarship to local students

    A scholarship is again offered by the North Central Montana Cattle Women and the North Central Montana Stock Growers. This annual scholarship is available to high school seniors and college students completing their sophomore year. Interest from a memorial fund honoring the memory of deceased members is contributed to by the Cattle Women.
