The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds and Turner Tornado Boys Basketball teams concluded their regular seasons this past week. The Thunderbirds played four contest, falling on Monday in overtime to the Chinook Sugarbeeters 47-41. Senior Daniel Henry led the team with 12 points. The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird girls varsity basketball team finished the regular season with a flurry, closing out the regular season with six games in nine days. This week the Thunderbirds played four contests, all at home. Monday they defeated the No. 2 Chinook Sugarbeeters 39-34 in a huge contest for the Thunderbirds. The Chinook Sugarbeeters concluded the regular season Saturday night at home against the Fort Benton Longhorns. Chinook held on for a 46-43 win to end a two game losing streak. The Tornadoes dropped a pair of contests beginning with a hard fought 49-45 setback Friday night against the Big Sandy Pioneers. Saturday the girls suffered a tough 52-42 loss against the North Star Knights. The Harlem Lady Cats fell 66-46 in Malta Monday to the M-ettes.
