The Hays/Lodge Pole Archery Club recently completed its second season with the completion of their second annual Archery Tournament. Hays/Lodge Pole is one of just a handful of schools offering the opportunity to their students but slowly that number is increasing. An estimated 60 guests enjoyed "Love Chocolate...Love Your Library" last week at the Harlem Public Library. The event, first suggested several years ago by former Lutheran pastor Ellen Ayers, was a celebration of chocolate in the library. Ayers told the library staff about "chocolate in the stacks" that she saw staged in another town where she once lived. She described the event as an interesting way to celebrate reading and chocolate. That suggestion was made almost six years ago. Library...

Darlene Ann Greenwood, 81, of Glentana, MT, passed away on February 11th, 2023. She was born to parents Henry and Sarah Kuecks, on March 5th, 1941, in Glasgow, MT. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1959. Her first marriage to Dan Taylor brought forth Darla and Darrell during their 11 years of marriage. Irene Alice (Kalkman) Stout was born Feb. 21, 1927 in her folks home 10 miles South of Climax, Sask. She & her sister Ethel went to school about 4 miles from home until her folks moved to Turner, MT in 1939. They then graduated from Turner School in 1945. Teachers were scarce so both Irene & Ethel attended summer school at Northern Montana College and then taught school. The Chinook Sugarbeeters are once again District 9C Champions, in their final season before moving to the District 1B next fall. The 'Beeters claimed the title after defeating the Turner Tornadoes, Box Elder Bears and North Star Knights in succession to improve to 21-0 on the season.
