Anyone visiting the Richman Insurance Agency building in Harlem will likely notice a quilt hanging on the west wall. Beside the quilt is a plaque and a story explaining that on July 17, 2017, Donald Wayne Richman, a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, was honored by the Quilts of Valor Foundation. On March 9, 2021 Mary P Swenson passed away at her home. She was 78 years old. She was born on August 31, 1942 in Havre, Montana to the late Ethel and John McSloy. Grave side services were held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2 pm at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery. Lola Lee Powell Gilbert went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 10th 2021, which was on her dad's birthday. She came into this world a fighter, being born two months premature when her mother was hit by lightning. Her crib was a shoe box and she got warmth from an old cook stove. Emily Ann Billmayer was born April 14, 1990 in Havre, Montana to Gene and Susan Billmayer of Hogeland, Montana. She attended Turner Public Schools and graduated in 2009. She moved to Havre in the summer of 2009 and lived in the ALC home and attended the Havre Day Activity Center with her many friends. The Chinook to Harlem Culverts project will repair or replace over 20 deteriorating culverts along a 24 mile stretch of US 2 between Chinook and Harlem. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced it is investing $42.3 million to help rural residents gain access to health care and educational opportunities (PDF, 255 KB).
