    A recent press release from a group calling itself the Montana Study Group for Toll Road Implementation (MSGTI) is advocating for the construction of toll roads in Montana. Toll roads are built by investors who recoup their construction and maintenance costs, and hopefully earn a profit, through fees paid by road users.     Montana FWP A new law was passed by the 2023 Montana Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Greg Gianforte. Beginning July 1, 2023, everyone ages 12 and older would need a Montana Conservation License to access most of state land. It simplifies existing laws for state land users, and it provides a way for users who don’t buy hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses to help pay for the maintenance and conservation work on state lands.     Mikel Doyle-Cummings, was welcomed home by her heavenly father, February 27th, 2024. She passed away in her home in Stevensville, MT with her loving husband Ray. Mikel was born on November 14th, 1950, in Saskatchewan, Canada to James (Pat) and Ethel Doyle. She was raised in Turner, Montana where she attended the local school and played sports and was a cheerleader.     St. Urho Day was celebrated in Blaine County, as best I can tell, for the first time in 2022. The made-up Finnish saint and accompanying legend has been enjoyed by Finns, and others, in Butte for several years.     The 37th Annual Hi-Line Invitational Tournament took place this past weekend at the Armory Gymnasium on the campus of MSU-Northern in Havre. The Light and Skylight basketball teams co-hosted the event featuring many of the top high school girls and boys basketball players from across the state of Montana.     The High School Academic Olympics took place on March 20th at Glasgow High School. Chinook competed in the Class 1 section against teams from Sidney, Plentywood, Glasgow, Fairview, Malta, and Wolf Point for a total of 70 students.
