On April 10, eight different schools brought representatives to Glasgow to compete in the Academic Olympics. Several Chinook Junior High School students walked away from that event as winners. Earning the highest cumulative score out of 72 students on the grade seven written tests was Cynnloch Gibson. When the Chinook FFA Chapter returned from the 94th Annual State FFA Convention, they brought home awards. Touted as "the biggest FFA competition in the state," the event was held in Billings at the Metra Park. Two members received honors for achieving their State Degrees. Now through the end of May 2024, Blaine County Museum is requesting the help of all adult Blaine County residents to participate in the Measure of Museum Social Impact (MOMSI) study. This study – the first of its kind – aims to assess how museums positively impact the communities they serve. In essence, this study will answer the questions “why are museums important?” with validated data. Dorothy Trepina, 94, departed peacefully on April 4, 2024, in Great Falls surrounded by the love of her family. Dorothy was born on January 27, 1930, in Minnesota. Dorothy was the vibrant second child of Walter and Laura (Geyer) Petrock. Following Walter’s passing, the family relocated to Big Sandy, where Dorothy flourished, graduating with the class of 1947.
