    Due to dry and windy conditions in Blaine County, Blaine County Commissioners are implementing a “burn ban” effective immediately. All burning associated with debris disposal or agricultural clearing is prohibited until further notice. The burn ban applies to all outdoor burning except recreational cooking fires. No new burn permits will be issued, and all current permits are suspended until conditions improve and the burn ban is lifted.     A group of nine people met on July 29, resurrecting the name Zurich Association of Parents (ZAP) as their name for the committee that is planning a Zurich Elementary School all-class reunion.     The summer swim season came to an end this past weekend in Sidney, Montana as the Montana Federation of Swimmers summer season concluded with the State Meet. The Chinook Lions swim team swam very well, capturing the Class A Division Team Championship.     Five hog exhibitors and two lamb exhibitors at the Blaine County Fair have won awards in recent carcass contests conducted by the Montana State University (MSU) Extension Program.
