    The White Pine 4-H Club raised some chickens to be auctioned off at the Blaine County Livestock Sale this past weekend. Gus, Charlie and Claire Buck along with their cousin Ethan Klingaman show off their chickens to see who would be the highest bidder and take these lovely creatures home. The funds raised on the sale of the chickens will be used towards maintenance of the 4-H Chuckwagon. A total of $800 was raised for the improvements....

    Evelyn Cole did art in Chinook most of her adult life and is likely best known for her sculpture of famed western artist Charlie Russell (rejected as Montana's entry for the Hall of Statuary in the U.S. Capitol because Russell was sculpted wearing a hat).     Several oral histories collected during the 1980s are catalogued, uploaded, and organized at the Blaine County Museum, and Museum Director Sam French invites everyone to come in and hear them, using the public access monitor at the museum.     It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Kay (Burtner) Thompson announces her passing on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at home with family near Bonners Ferry, Idaho at the age of 77 years. Private family services will be held at a later date at the Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Mary was born to Herman and Edla Burtner. Mary spent her younger years in Montana on the family farm near Lindsay, Jordan and graduated from Chinook High School.     Friday August 14th was the final day to turn in time logs for the Summer Reading Program. Kolt Rutledge won the Supersoaker, Laura Danley was the winner of the Simon Optix, and Balen Adair won the Magic Art Kit and Tic Tac Toe game. Aubrey Kalk was our top reader this year with 88 hours of reading and is the recipient of the afterhours pizza party.
