With Fair week over, time to get back to normal and Fair Manager Debbie Ramberg is glad. Relaxing in her office, Ramberg said things ran very well. "It was a huge success." Harlem Library The Book Challenge for August is to read a book with a person’s name in the title. The library board will hold their monthly meeting Aug. 28, 4:30 P.M. The library will be closed Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day. Fall programming will resume the first week of Sept. Hello From the Chinook Senior Center We, once again, celebrated many things with many different people this past week. We learned how to paint wonderful, beautiful pictures on canvas, with combs, forks, q-tips, cotton balls, and sponges. We are all (every one) thrilled with our diverse and unique pieces. Dirk Shulund, age 46, passed peacefully on Aug. 9, 2024, and took a seat with our Lord in heaven after a hard-fought and courageous battle with glioblastoma. Dirk was born on Aug. 11, 1977, in Havre, the second son to Richard and Sheila Shulund. Dirk rounded out the family of four with his older brother Eric. He attended school at Sunnyside Elementary through the fifth grade. He enjoyed being outside riding bikes and spending summer evenings playing games with the neighborhood kids. There were a... Karolee Ann Pitsch Cronk, lifelong Harlem area resident, passed away on August 3, 2024, at the age of 85 from complications of surgery. Karolee was a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, friend and child of God. She was born on June 22, 1939 and spent her early years in Hogeland, MT before later moving to Harlem. Jerres Jane Powell Mills Morrison, known as Jane, passed away on August 4, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born May 14, 1932 to Wilbur "Pete" Powell and Edith (Leighton) Powell in Jacksonville, Illinois, the eldest of four girls. When she was 12, her adventurous parents drove the whole family on the new Pan-American Highway all the way to Uruguay, South America. That started Jane's lifelong love for people of all nations.
