If you lived along The High-Line long enough you certainly have experienced winter storms in nearly every month of the calendar with the exception of maybe July. We've all seen snow in June in August, but the storm that came through last weekend was one of those that goes in the category of "I'll never forget". The storm blanketed the region with a heavy wet snow that wreaked havoc on trees, power lines and anything that it would stick to. The leaves of fall are always so beautiful and truly a...

Leonard Lundby, Fire Chief, Manchester Volunteer Fire Department was on hand to moderate the meeting. On hand were members of the Chinook,...
It is that time of the month that I include a recipe for you. It is also Columbus Day so I guess something is in order for an Italian recipe. I have written again and again about spaghetti and meatballs. It is my original comfort food and for years I worked hard to improve my spaghetti sauce and to make my meatballs just simply melt in the mouth of the eater. Imagine my surprise when I was reading a copy of the elite “Bon Appétit” Magazine and on the front page, they have a picture of spaghetti and meatballs and recipes to go with, not only...

Ted worked alongside his father and later contributed to the World War II effort by working on Omaha, Nebraska, at a B-29 factory. Ted married Delores Fournier on May 16, 1952, and then began working on road construction in Montana and North Dakota. Son... Full story
Don’t allow evil to cloud your perception of God Q. I have a friend who likes to ask me hard questions about the Bible (since he knows I’m a Christian). But even if I find an answer, he just comes up with another question. Sometimes I think he just likes to argue. Should I give up on him? A: No, don’t give up on him; even if he’s asking questions just to keep from facing his own spiritual need, God is able to break through the hard shell he seems to have built around his heart and mind. Do you remember Saul of Tarsus? He was convinced that Ch...

The money will go toward support of the local food bank. The Civic Association has operated for more than a decade funding and organizing various events to "improve life in our community." By walk time, at 2 pm, the weather...
These little cuties spent the better part of recess piling leaves, jumping in it, and throwing them in the air trying to catch them. They were having such a wonderful time! Then, Monday began to cool off and a skiff of snow blanketed the playground. The children were looking for whatever amount of the first snow they could find to pile on to their little snowmen they were building. By the time Tuesday came, the playground was soaked with about an inch of rain and soaking the leaves and ground....

Good for the Bobcats and the Grizzlies this week. Both won their Saturday games. The Bobcats finished off Portland State 30 t0 22. The mighty Griz beat Idaho State 39 to 31. Good playing on the part of both teams. In the Frontier League about all I could come up with at press time is Western beating Montana Tech 42 to 35. That was a game that was supposed to go the other way. Carroll lost to the College of Idaho 21 to 6. That wasn’t supposed to end that way either. Closer to home Chouteau beat the Thunderbirds 74 to 6 and Havre lost to B...
