    The Chinook volunteer fire department started in 1904 and is still going strong! They cover roughly 2,056 areas from the Canadian border, to Zurich, the Hill County line, and all the way to the Missouri river. They currently have 15 active members and 2 reserve members on the crew. The number for a full company is 28.     Virginia Olson was back in Chinook from Great Falls after attending the annual Montana Governor's Conference on Aging. The event brings health care providers and caregivers together from across the state to discuss issues facing aging populations especially in a sparsely populated state like Montana.     Mark Vitaris, Canadian author and location photographer, spoke to about twenty-five people last week at the kickoff program of the Blaine County Museum's "Off-season Speaker Series."     Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center! We have had lots of fun this past week, with the September birthday party. We had 10 birthday guests to celebrate! Everyone enjoyed a wonderful Ham dinner & Birthday cake as well as a few surprises. Saturday, Sept 30th we also had an Ice Cream Social.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters were in Fairfield for an afternoon contest with the Eagles on Friday. Saturday the girls were back home in the friendly confines of the Floyd Bowen Gymnasium as they welcomed the Cut Bank Wolves to town in a District 1B contest.     The Lady Cats had just one match on the schedule this week, a home contest with District 2B rival Glasgow. The Lady cats continued to volley well, but in the end, it was the Scotties that came away with a 3-0 win over the Lady Cats.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters hosted the Rocky Boy Stars this past Saturday in their final home contest of the season. Looking to even their record at 3-3, the 'Beeters did just that with an easy 62-0 win. Chinook had seven players find the end zone and forced seven Rocky Boy turnovers in the lopsided win.     With just two weeks left in the Cross Country regular season, teams are really looking to make the most of it. The Chinook Sugarbeeters and Harlem Wildcats were in Malta this past Saturday at the Marian Hills Golf and Country Club. Both teams were well represented and performed very well top to bottom.
