This type of election allows the voter the convenience of voting at home and simply returning the ballot by mail or delivering it to the Blaine County Clerk and Recorder’s office at the courthouse. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers gather information and make recommendations to judges trying to make determinations for what is best for neglected and abused children thrust into the court system.     The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about 14.1 miles of U.S. Highway 2, east of Chinook. The project begins at the 15 Mile Creek Bridge at reference post 413.8 and extends east for 14.1 miles, ending at the boundary of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation at reference post 427.9. Barbara was a beauty queen from Chinook, Montana, a farm girl born to Bertha and Jesse Conrad on February 7, 1923.     The Chinook Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) conducted a very realistic Fire Drill last Wednesday at both the Meadowlark Elementary and Chinook High Schools. Those aware of the drills were limited to elementary principle Jonathan Martin, high school principle Matt Molyneaux and Chinook schools and Superintendent Darrin Hannum.
