Each donation can save up to 3 lives. Because of your generosity, 126 lives will be saved. There were 48 individuals that showed up to donate on Tuesday, January 8th. There were two deferrals making our total number of pints donated 46, exceeding our goal of 42 by 4. The Turner School held its local Geography Bee this past week in the school gymnasium. Grades 4-8 competed for nearly two hours to come to the top three winners. Nearly 10,000 schools across the United States will compete in the 2019 National Geographic GeoBee for a chance to win college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic GeoBee Champion. The evening with local author Jack G. Young event has been moved from February 19 to February 20, 6:30 P.M. due to a conflict. Tickets are on sale at the library through January 25. Ticket prices include the purchase of one or both books as well as a soup supper meal. Tickets for just the meal are also available. Ooo boy! It snowed. I was sure it was not deep enough to wear my snow boots to walk to work, I was very wrong. I should have worn my snowshoes. The Chinook Sugarbeeters, now ranked No.7 in the latest Class C Boys Basketball Power Poll, had another solid week on the court defeating a talented Hays/Lodge Pole team 62-49 Friday. Saturday the Sugarbeeters were at home looking for the season sweep against the Big Sandy Pioneers and did just that, winning 70-39 to improve to 9-0 in District 9C play and 12-0 overall.
