The Big Flat Catholic youth group did an act of kindness as they helped stock the Harlem Food Bank. They asked the community for donations and had several drop off spots throughout the community. The kids picked up the food and delivered it recently. They collected 485 pounds of food and $525.00 in monetary donations to help fill the pantry. Laurie Ann Skones George, 55, passed away November 4, 2023, at her home in Havre, MT with her family by her side after losing a courageous battle with cancer. Karen Louise Brekke, 85, died at her home in Helena, Montana on November 2, 2023. She was born on April 26, 1938 in Harlem, Montana to John James and Ameretta G. Kelly. She started working as soon as she was of legal age to do so and worked hard her entire life. She graduated from Harlem High School in the spring of 1957 and went on to graduate from Walla Walla Community College in Walla Walla, Washington in 1964 as a Certified Practical Nurse. The 2023 volleyball season is in the books and post-season awards have been announced for District 1B and District 2B. The Chinook Sugarbeeters landed two on the District 1B awards list while the Harlem Lady Cats placed one on the District 2B honors list.
