Last Wednesday, Moon returned and played for local fans at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building.     Yvonne Laird of Chinook has been selected by Governor Steve Bullock to fill the 17th Judicial Court seat being vacated by the retirement of Judge John McKeon.   • North Central Montana Relay for Life Committee holds first meeting

    The North Central Montana Relay for Life committee held its first meeting this past week. They started making plans for the various fundraisers they will hold before the Relay (tentatively scheduled in June). They have set a goal for this year at $30,000 for the combined Hill and Blaine County effort. Last year, Blaine County raised about $12,000 and Hill County raised about $14,400 in monetary donations (not including in kind donations).   • Northwest Farm Credit Services volunteer at Chinook Food Bank, leave $750 donation

    The Northwest Farm Credit Services staff came to the Chinook Food Bank on November 3 to help unload our food bank network truck delivery. Not only did they assist with unloading the stores they then presented us with a check for $750!     Sandra Kay (Albright) Berger was born January 15, 1943 to Robert and Elsie Albright in Chester, Montana. She attended schools in Chester, graduating in 1961. Sandra married John Couturier on April 10, 1962 and moved to a farm outside of Chinook in 1969. She worked on the farm and was a housewife and raised her three children, Corey, Camie, and Dominique.   • My Neighbor in Needs Silent Auction completed for Princess

    The four Princess beds auctioned by the local My Neighbor in Need group is completed. On the night of last week's general election, the four winning bidders were named. My Neighbor, a county wide group that helps neighbors in need, got the beds through the generosity of Jim Warburton. Warburton bought a used semi-trailer and discovered it had several pieces of upscale furniture still in it, including four complete Princess beds. The beds typically retail for about $1,000.
