Max added, "It's really a tribute to the farm for its role in providing research plots for...
The Friends of the Harlem Library group hosted a wine and cheese festival last week. Actually, it was more than just wine and cheese with two "groaning" tables of holiday goodies and treats to go along with multiple opportunities to taste, and bid on, some interesting wines. The wines were donated by Sagebrush Flats Winery and the goodies were courtesy of Friends members. It was a fun evening, but there was a serious purpose. Nellie Obrecht, a co-chair of the Friends, explained the Friends...

An unusually mild winter weekend brought sizeable numbers of shoppers to the first weekend of local holiday bazaars around Blaine County. Some bazaar organizers, in the past, believed good weather tended to cause shoppers to head out of town for their shopping but that wasn't the case this year. All three first-round bazaars enjoyed a good turnout as shoppers got into the holiday spirit. Historically, charitable bazaars in the United States date back to the early 1800's, as women's groups used...

You can find the answers on B7 in this edition of the paper. 1. In the song “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas,” you are dreaming of a white Christmas with what? a. your significant o...

While looking through old papers reading the different Christmas stories, I stumbled across one which I could agree with and relate to. Mrs. Lillian Weaver, of Davenport, Idaho wrote in December of 1965 her version of Christmas. I pulled just a few things she stated and gave my opinion. In her article she wrote, “Christmas is the thrill of an old fashioned sleigh ride on a white stretching road glistening with “snow” diamonds on a moonlight night.” When I was eight years old we had a team and a sleigh. Dad hooked up our gelding, Blaze, and too...

Jade Cecrle had a fall to remember as she filled two tags and the family freezer. In filling her deer tag, Jade had to walk in for an hour in some of the roughest terrain in Blaine County and then put a belly crawl stock on it. The trek left her with a 200 yard shot with a 243 rifle. Oh it was the best trip I think a young girl and first kill could of had. The hunting party had to quarter it and take it out horse back. Jade harvested her Cow Elk down in the breaks and the Mule Deer buck was...
