    Blaine County Library's Homeschool Hour students recently had their last session for 2023. Providing programs aimed at homeschool students, Homeschool Hour meets 1-2pm on Wednesdays. Per Assistant Librarian Emily Scofield who oversees the program, any student, kindergarten through high school, is welcome to attend.     This year's Blaine County Fur Fest Coyote Hunt was sponsored for the first time by the Blaine County Fair Foundation. The event was held the first weekend of December and was deemed a huge success. Fair Board/Foundation member Shandel Fouts, who was very involved in the planning, promotion and carrying out of the event, reported "It was the first time the Fair Foundation sponsored the hunt and it was a huge success."     On Monday, December 11, Chinook students in grades 5-12 attended a Vaping Prevention presentation in the Lloyd Sweet Auditorium.     December is shaping up to be a great month over here at the museum! On Wednesday December 6th we put on a “parfleche workshop” for 28 area kids in conjunction with the wonderful folks over at the Blaine County Library. The parfleche workshop was an interactive program where kids were able to learn about the history and importance of parfleche: a versatile and beautiful painted rawhide container used by many Indigenous Peoples.     Emily had a reading challenge for the month of November. Students had to read 20 minutes every day in November and fill in a time log. 37 students from Chinook, Zurich, Cleveland, and Bear Paw Schools returned reading slips to the library. Edwin Hewitt from Chinook and Stevie Engle from Bear Paw School were the lucky winners of the drawing. They each won a book bag, a coloring book, and markers.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters were in Shelby this past weekend for the Coyote Tip-Off Preseason Tournament. The 'Beeter girls first took on the Eureka Lions on Friday morning and came away with a comfortable 78-28 win.     The Turner Tornado girls took part in their second pre-season tournament in as many weeks this past Friday and Saturday in Harlowton.     The Turner Tornadoes headed south this past weekend to take part in another tip-off tournament. The community of Harlowton hosted the two-day event.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters were in Shelby this past Friday for a pair of non-conference clashes at the annual Coyote Pre-Season Tip-Off Classic basketball tournament. On Friday morning, the ‘Beeters took on the Eureka Lions where they were defeated 74-65.     A new holiday tree ornament honoring the memory of the airmen killed in a crash over Harlem more than 30 years ago is now available for the upcoming Christmas season.
