    Havre, MT December 20, 2018: Havre Elks Lodge #1201 wrapped up their 2018 Blanket Drive and inaugural Veteran’s Giving Tree with a distribution on Wednesday December 19th, 2018 at the lodge.     The Big Flat Market Cooperative in Turner has been working towards the purchase of a backup generator that will enable them to protect their inventory and to remain in operation in the event of any power outages or power failures. To achieve their goal, they have applied for and received grants from both Northwest Farm Credit Services and the Big Flat Community Grain Bin Foundation.     This week I would like to reprint a well-loved poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. On Christmas Day, 1863, Longfellow was a widower and father of six.     The Library will be closed Tuesday January 1, 2019 in observance of New Year’s. We will be open regular hours the rest of the week. The movie today will be “The Great Outdoors” at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. The movie is rated PG, and it runs for one hour and 31 minutes.     Montana filed a notice of appeal Friday of the September decision by the federal district court in Missoula to re-instate endangered species protection to grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. “Grizzly bear recovery and conservation is an amazing success story that’s taken decades of hard work and dedication.     Several Blaine County 4-H clubs were represented at the recent Blaine County 4-H Officer Training and Record Book workshop on December 9th at the Meadowlark School in Chinook.
