Last week, the staff here at the museum had the great opportunity to attend the Museum Associations of Montana’s annual conference in Lewistown. Museum Associations of Montana is a non-profit, professional organization whose goal is to strengthen all of Montana's Museums. The citizens of Blaine County are now able to obtain a burn permit online without standing in line or even leaving home. The Blaine County Burn Permit service – found at https://app.egovmt.com/burnpermit/ –available as of Feb 2024, and will provide citizens with instant access to county burn permits. Chinook High School sophomores, Bailey Billmayer and Carson Kelly have been named Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar Ambassadors for 2024. The pair will attend a seminar from June 6-9 on the campus of Montana State University in Bozeman. A scholarship is again offered by the North Central Montana Cattle Women and the North Central Montana Stock Growers. This annual scholarship is available to high school seniors and college students completing their sophomore year. Interest from a memorial fund honoring the memory of deceased members is contributed to by the Cattle Women. For the 18th year in a row Alexander (Zander) Blewett, III, a trial lawyer from the personal injury law firm of Hoyt & Blewett PLLC in Great Falls, Montana, has offered three $1,000 scholarships to the top student/wrestlers around the state of Montana for Classes “AA”, “A”, and “B/C”.
