The last two Red Cross blood drives held were a success. The next blood drive is on September 20th from 12 noon-6pm and will be held at the Commercial Building down at the fairgrounds in Chinook. The Chinook community has hosted two blood drives recently. One on May 10th and one on July 19th. Both were a great success with 46 units collected in May on a goal of 45, and 57 units collected in July on a goal of 45. We registered four first time donors in May and two in July. Harlem High School is hosting an assembly sponsored by Tristan Billmayer Memorial, featuring Jason DeShaw. It will take place on Wednesday, September 7 at 1:30 in the afternoon at Harlem High School Gymnasium. All Blaine County Schools (7-12) have been invited to attend. The public is also invited. The massive vandalism that struck a family owned property in southern Blaine County has generated significant interest throughout the region and in a recent press release by the Blaine County Sheriff Department a brief update was provided. On Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm the American Lutheran Church in Harlem will be conducting a food drive for the Harlem Food Bank. The other churches in Harlem will be assisting with the project as well. We are asking all residents to have some food ready in a sack or box so it can be picked up by a volunteer. The food drive will assemble at the Harlem Food Bank to begin collecting at 1:00 pm. Water and snacks will be available to volunteers.
