With many students needing to do classes online and others needing to access the internet during the pandemic the library feels it is important to provide free Wi-Fi even when the library is not open.     The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting Monday August 31st at 4:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. All patrons age 5 and over are required to wear a face covering to enter the building. The library made the decision to continue to require masks regardless of the active case count.     Alert "Journal" reader Shirley Gardipee, who lives in Shelby, read the recent "Journal" (August 5, 2020) story about the unknown artist of the 40-foot long western mural in the old Kuhr Clothing Store in Chinook. She called Daniel Dahl, the new owner of the building and told him, "I know who painted that mural. It was my father-in-law Martin Gardipee, Sr." Daniel shared the message with me.     The White Pine 4-H Club raised some chickens to be auctioned off at the Blaine County Livestock Sale this past weekend. Gus, Charlie and Claire Buck along with their cousin Ethan Klingaman show off their chickens to see who would be the highest bidder and take these lovely creatures home. The funds raised on the sale of the chickens will be used towards maintenance of the 4-H Chuckwagon. A total of $800 was raised for the improvements....

    Friday August 14th was the final day to turn in time logs for the Summer Reading Program. Kolt Rutledge won the Supersoaker, Laura Danley was the winner of the Simon Optix, and Balen Adair won the Magic Art Kit and Tic Tac Toe game. Aubrey Kalk was our top reader this year with 88 hours of reading and is the recipient of the afterhours pizza party. The mandate by the Governor went into effect in Blaine County due to the number of COVID-19 cases in the county. Although at the time this article was written we only had 3 active cases in Blaine County, the library made the decision to continue to require masks regardless of the active case count.
