The Chinook Lions Club was notified that work could begin this fall on the new skate park. The skate park will be a totally new facility to be built at the southwest corner of 9th Street West and Pennsylvania Street-directly behind the Chinook City Pool on the old parking lot. The Montana Actors’ Theatre (MAT) team invites Blaine County youth to sign up for one of the KidsMAT summer camps. June 17-20 will see the crew from MAT working with KidsMAT campers in Chinook at Sweet Memorial Park. Harlem’s camp will occur at Harlem High School’s Little Gym from June 24-27. My wife Sherry and I recently spent a week in Grand Forks, North Dakota with our son, celebrating his 50th birthday. He's lived there for some time. Our daughter made a surprise flight from the Seattle area where she lives to celebrate her brother's 50th birthday. The four of us had not been together as a family in five years. Harlem Public Schools On May 6, 2024, at 6:00pm the Harlem Jr. /Sr. High School held an Academic Banquet and celebration, of our students and staff. On Sunday, April 28, the Chinook Chapter of the FFA played host to Donkey Sports, Incorporated in the Floyd Bowen Gymnasium for an evening's entertainment with Donkey Basketball. The first game tipped off at approximately 5:30 p.m. Travelling from Entiat, Washington, Donkey Sports furnished referees, game equipment, animals wearing rubber shoes, and helmets for the protection of the players. For our recent 80th birthdays my wife and I have been taking mini-vacations to places in Montana we've never visited.
