The 12th Annual Blaine County Cruise is slated for this weekend. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. at the Blaine County Fairgrounds’ Commercial Building on Friday, June 23, and Cruisers will depart Chinook at 9:00 on Saturday morning, June 24. Summer programs have officially begun and will run through July 28th. Mondays will be Hangout for grades 7 & 8 at 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays we will have Summer Story Time for kids ages 5 and under, which will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. An estimated 60 guests enjoyed "Love Chocolate...Love Your Library" last week at the Harlem Public Library. The event, first suggested several years ago by former Lutheran pastor Ellen Ayers, was a celebration of chocolate in the library. Ayers told the library staff about "chocolate in the stacks" that she saw staged in another town where she once lived. I was recently invited by Ken and Jeff Finley to attend a birthday party for Jeff and Lynette Finley's oldest grandchild who turned ten.
