Although visitations at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home were scheduled to restart after January 18, family visits are still on hold. With the end of the holidays, the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home is implementing a two-week period of no visitors but welcoming the vaccine for COVID-19. Visitations are scheduled to restart after January 18. I have to say this is the longest autumn weather that we have had in years. The ice on the walks and streets could go away, I’m sure nobody would miss it. While it may be windy, nothing new to us, the temperature has been pretty agreeable on most days. Many tears were shed and stories swapped in remembrance of the ten family members lost from Sweet Memorial Nursing Home due to the invasion of COVID-19. As the staff and administration of the Home move beyond their grief, they are happy to report that currently the Sweet Home has no active cases and twenty recoveries. Carol Johnsrud, of Chinook, wanted to share a Thanksgiving greeting with friends. A retired nurse she wanted to keep everyone safe but still personalize the greeting. She would drive to a "greetee's" residence, ring them up on a cell phone and urge them to "look out your window" where she was holding the greeting.
