While the residents of Sweet Memorial Nursing Home have been abiding by the Governor's Directives, the staff has learned to be creative in providing socialization that meets distancing guidelines. From horsing around to requesting cards, blowing bubbles, and celebrating National Skilled Nursing Care Week, the crew at the Home has proven that social distancing doesn't mean isolation. Now, perhaps more than ever, we need to make sure we are checking in with one another and providing support. To...

Reporter's note: Sitting up here in Whitlash under Montana's 'stay at home directive.' My thoughts have turned to 'signs of spring.' My wife and I lived in eight states and 23 different places within those states during our 50+ years of marriage. I got to thinking about the different signs of spring we experienced at those 23 places. A writer for an eastern North Dakota newspaper wrote, "We're each afforded our own perspective on the beginning of spring." Another way to say it might be, "Signs...

Helping others has always been one of Rob Klingaman's life-long motivations. That affinity, coupled with his desire to be one of those that the public looks to in a time of need, may explain why he initially pursued and was accepted to attend the Naval Academy in June 2013. However, after learning that two shoulder injuries would limit his service selection to only the supply corps, he separated from the military in January 2015 and enrolled at Montana State University (MSU) in Bozeman to...
