There was a volleyball game on Saturday at Harlem. They played CutBank. Welcome to our new janitor, Jennifer Owens who recently joined our family. Jennifer started working on August 3rd. She works two days a week for a couple hours. As residents of the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home (SMNH) reflect back on the past month, they count several events as memorable: the Independence Day Parade, straw painting, celebrating Gorgeous Grandma Day, and remembering lost residents through National Lipstick Day. We have 2 new board members after the election on Friday July 17th. Steve Edwards and Peggy Perry will be joining Tom Tilleman, Ken Schubert, Lorraine Mulonet, Terry Grabofsky, and Kathy O’Brien. I was out of town visiting friends a couple of weekends ago and this young man asked me about the meals at the Senior Center. Mary Ellen and Wayne Deloach have returned to their home on the Big Flat. It is so nice when our neighbors return home. .They returned to the Homestead on Tuesday and will be staying awhile to visit family and friends. So far, July at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home (SMNH) has found the staff and residents receiving therapy frogs, previewing their new activity room, celebrating birthdays, and extending their visitation policy. Nancy Boyce generously donated a cart of homemade therapy frogs to the residents at the SMNH. From the selection, each resident chose a frog of his or her own. Sympathy is extended to the family of George Cichosz. He passed away this past week. He and his family lived many years out in Hogeland and will be remembered by many.
