    On July 4th, Wayne and Mary Ellen Deloach attended church in Hogeland and then spent the afternoon in Turner for the fun parade and the Firemen’s picnic.     On Sunday Wayne and Mary Ellen Deloach had dinner with the Mohars and VanValkenburgs. Darwin Zellmer drove Loretta Beck to Gt Falls for a medical apt on Tuesday. They enjoyed lunch with Laura Sherwood while there, and stopped for a quick visit at the Steve Zellmer home in Chinook. Locals may recall the Gilge family, Kent and Lois and their five children, who lived out in the valley east of Chinook in a house across the creek from and owned by Ken and Dawn Overcast. I wish it would just rain once or twice a week to keep the plants thriving and the heat down, but Montana doesn’t work that way.     It’s a dreary day again here on the Big Flat. We have received a small amount of rain and a little snow that melted as it hit the ground. We could use a good soaking rain to give the crops a boost to grow. Maybe it will come yet. Lets hope so.
