The Big Flat 4-H Cloverbuds trick or treated in Harlem in to collect food for the food pantry in Harlem. These little goblins wish to thank those who generously gave to their food drive on Sunday afternoon. The children gathered several large grocery bags of food. Betty Jean (Dunbar) and Albert J. Sanford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Billings, Montana, with a gathering of family and a very special dinner. They were married Sept. 4, 1955, at the Presbyterian Church in Chinook, Montana. He worked for Texaco Inc., (Producing and Drilling) for 33 years. Three new CASA volunteers have officially joined the 17th Judicial Court District. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers gather information and make recommendations to judges trying to make determinations for what is best for neglected and abused children thrust into the court system. Reporter's note: I was in the Blaine County Veterinary Clinic when two bird hunters were at the counter with their bird dog. The dog was sitting calmly, on leash, and looking around the clinic waiting room. The hunters were in the Malta area when their dog was bitten by a rattlesnake. With no vets available in Malta, they headed for Chinook. Eleanor Johnson Harmon Bickel turned 100 years old on September 16, 2015. She was born in Norma, ND on September 16, 1915, the first of four children. She moved with her family in 1928 to Hogeland, MT. She was in the first graduating class from Hogeland High School in 1933. She went on to college to receiver her college degree from Northern Montana College in Havre and for several years taught at various grade schools in Blaine County.
