Zurich Elementary School began their first day of the 2020-2021 school year on Wednesday, August 19, with nineteen students and one new staff member: K-2 teacher Sherry Hofman. Originally from Belgrade, Montana, Hofman has taught since 2017 in Lustre, a community in Valley County with an elementary school that served 43 students last year. On September 1 of 2019, Blaine County was notified of a death to a lady’s 10 month old puppy after drinking water immediately below the outflow of Cow Creek Reservoir. On Tuesday, July 21, 2020 The Chinook community hosted the American Red Cross Blood Drive. It was a fantastic turnout. Our schedule was full leaving very little room for walk ins. We had 54 units collected on a goal of 37 with only one deferral. The Red Cross is now able to collect Power Red donations at our drives.
