    Kraig Hansen retired as Fire Chief for the City of Chinook and Blaine County Fire Department on January 31, 2023. Hansen served for 20 years as Chief of the Chinook department and was Chief in Harlem for 13 years before joining the Chinook organization. His retirement capped a 47 year career as a volunteer firefighter. He will continue as Fire Warden for Blaine County.     The Chinook JUMP Youth Group held their Annual 'SOUPer Bowl' this past Sunday at Wallner Hall. The faith based non-denominational youth group has used the event to raise funds through the years for a variety of different needs in the community.     The fourth annual Brewfest was held this past Saturday at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building.     The City of Harlem experienced a major water break last Monday that left residents without water for nearly two and a half days. The leak was first discovered on Monday, January 30 at approximately 8:30 in the morning. A six man crew worked tirelessly throughout the day and night to first find the source of the leak and then to finally repair it.     The Chinook Rod & Gun Club held its 4th Annual Fishing Derby this past Saturday. Originally the Derby was set to allow just 50 Anglers, but late notice from the MFWP came that they would be allowed to expand to 75 anglers beginning this year.     The PAWS Animal Shelter in Chinook held its first ever Adoption Event this past Saturday at North 40 in Havre.
